Coalition Support Falters Amid US Messaging Hesitation

According to Jason Campbell, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, the US government’s communication on its regional goals is shrouded in uncertainty, hindering its ability to garner international backing.
Campbell pointed out that the White House’s decision to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, whether through diplomatic means or military intervention, has elicited a lackluster response from NATO allies.
Campbell observed, “The US government’s messaging is marked by ambiguity, particularly in light of recent efforts to assemble a coalition of nations to collectively reopen the Strait of Hormuz, either through intense diplomatic pressure or, if necessary, military action.”
He further noted, “However, the response from NATO allies and other countries has been lukewarm at best, characterized by a lack of commitment, and this is partly due to the White House’s decision to launch Operation Epic Fury without first undertaking essential planning steps, including building a coalition and preparing for potential outcomes.”

A series of coordinated attacks on US military outposts in Iraq has been attributed to the local armed group Saraya Awliya al-Dam, according to a statement posted on the group’s Telegram channel.
The statement asserts that the group has successfully executed six strikes on US bases within the past 24 hours, marking a significant escalation in the conflict.
In a separate claim, the group announced that its fighters are actively targeting US occupation forces in Erbil, although the statement lacked concrete evidence to substantiate the assertion.

According to Hezbollah, four Israeli tanks were successfully targeted and rendered inoperable.

Trump’s Ship Insurance Plan Remains Unused, Lloyd’s List Reveals

Despite US President Trump’s claim that a new insurance plan for ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz would be implemented “effective immediately” nearly a month ago, Lloyd’s List, a respected shipping publication, has found that there are currently no known beneficiaries of the scheme. Lloyd’s also suggests that the plan’s conditions may be limiting its applicability, potentially restricting it to vessels with ties to the United States. Prior to the current crisis, the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) reported that the cost of insuring a $100 million vessel for a single voyage was approximately $250,000.

International Intervention Needed to Halt Israel’s South Lebanon Invasion Plan

In a pressing appeal, Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) has urged global nations to intervene and prevent Israel’s stated objective of annihilating border towns and blocking the return of hundreds of thousands of civilians to their homes in southern Lebanon.
DAWN has called upon states to take swift action, including imposing an arms embargo and economic sanctions, to halt Israel’s further human rights abuses and its prolonged occupation of southern Lebanon before its expansionist ambitions become irreversible.
This plea comes after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz acknowledged that Israel is set to follow a similar approach to that used in Gaza, where it razed entire areas and displaced residents, a move that rights advocates describe as a form of ethnic cleansing.
Recently, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich suggested that the Litani River, which runs approximately 30km deep into Lebanese territory, should serve as Israel’s new northern border.
“Under the guise of the conflict with Iran, Israel is openly implementing and accelerating its agenda to seize more land, this time in Lebanon,” said Michael Schaeffer Omer-Man, DAWN’s director for Israel-Palestine.
“Given its history of disregard for international norms in Palestine and the region, it is clear that Israel will not cease its aggression without facing tangible repercussions – and states must act before it’s too late.”

Iran Israel War Summary — What You Need to Know

The U.S.–Israel–Iran war that began on February 28, 2026 has rapidly evolved into one of the most consequential Middle Eastern conflicts in decades. What started with coordinated airstrikes by the United States and Israel against Iranian military and strategic targets has since triggered a broader, multi‑theater confrontation involving missile exchanges, regional proxy involvement, and significant humanitarian and economic impacts. Iran responded to the initial strikes with sustained missile and drone campaigns against Israeli territory and American bases across the Gulf region, prompting heightened military readiness throughout the Middle East. Beyond direct combat, the war’s effects are being felt across global energy markets, as key supply routes such as the Strait of Hormuz are disrupted, driving volatility in oil prices and raising concerns about inflation and economic stability worldwide.
