According to Trump, this framework was the foundation for resolving the conflict, with nearly all contentious issues between the US and Iran having been addressed.
However, the White House press secretary later clarified that Trump was actually referring to a different 10-point plan, not the original proposal that had been widely assumed.
This clarification has created significant confusion, as it’s unclear which proposal Trump agreed to when announcing the ceasefire.
One of the key points in the Iranian proposal was to limit Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon and against its allies, including Yemen.
As a result, there is ongoing uncertainty about the specifics of the President’s agreement.

A stark divergence in positions has become apparent, with a central point of contention revolving around Israel’s actions in Lebanon.
As part of the 10-point plan that Trump claimed to have endorsed, a halt to Israeli hostilities in southern Lebanon was supposedly a key component.
However, the White House and Vice President now insist that this was not an agreed-upon aspect of the proposal, casting a cloud of uncertainty that can only be lifted once all parties clearly articulate their understanding of the original agreement.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has expressed profound distress over the catastrophic loss of life and widespread devastation in densely populated regions of Lebanon.
In a statement that refrained from attributing blame for the attacks, the ICRC confirmed it is collaborating with local organizations to address the surge in casualties at overwhelmed medical facilities in Lebanon.
According to Agnes Dhur, head of the ICRC’s delegation in Lebanon, the nation was on the cusp of a fragile ceasefire agreement when a barrage of lethal strikes sent the country into a state of pandemonium and disarray.
As a result, many individuals who had begun to envision a return to their homes are now frantically scouring streets and hospitals in a desperate search for missing family members or a sense of security that seems increasingly elusive.

The incident occurred around 8pm local time (16:00 GMT) in the town of Shishtar, according to the Deputy Security Officer of Khuzestan. The girl’s family suffered further misfortune as six of its members were also injured in the incident.

According to reports, a key condition for Iran’s 10-point proposal is a ceasefire in Lebanon, as emphasized by President Pezeshkian during a phone conversation with the French president.
In a separate development, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has denounced the Israeli strikes on Lebanon, warning of the “perilous repercussions” that could follow.
This is just one aspect of the unfolding drama. Another crucial element is the reported downing of a drone in central Tehran, as well as an earlier attack, which the Iranians are viewing as a blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement.
Against this backdrop of escalating tensions, the two sides are poised to meet in Pakistan, where the situation remains precarious.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has taken to social media to express his country’s discontent with the United States, sharing a clip of White House press secretary Leavitt’s earlier statement to the press. In the video, Leavitt confirms that Lebanon is not included in the two-week ceasefire agreement. Baghaei’s accompanying post reads, “What else can be said about this latest instance of US reneging on its commitments if not that it’s yet another example of the same pattern?” Baghaei also referenced a post from Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif, who had stated that Iran and the US had agreed to an immediate ceasefire in all areas, including Lebanon, just yesterday.

Turkiye’s Foreign Ministry has launched a scathing critique of Netanyahu’s administration, asserting that its actions are deliberately sabotaging international peace-building endeavors.
The ministry also expressed outrage over Israel’s escalating military campaigns in Lebanon, which it says are drastically worsening the humanitarian crisis in the country.
Turkiye is now calling on the global community to take swift action to put an end to Israel’s prolonged occupation of Lebanon.
Israel has issued ominous warnings and displacement threats affecting nearly 14 percent of Lebanon’s territory and has razed villages near the southern border with Israel.
