A search operation is currently in progress for one crew member of a jet that crashed in southwestern Iran, while another crew member has been successfully rescued. The US has confirmed that a Black Hawk helicopter involved in the search mission came under fire but was able to continue flying. Reports are emerging that a second Black Hawk helicopter may also have been targeted. Meanwhile, an A-10 Warthog aircraft, which was providing close air support for ground troops, has suffered a loss, with one of its two crew members having been located, and the other still missing.
