Iran’s Health Infrastructure Under Siege: WHO Chief Sounds Alarm

Since March 1, the World Health Organization has documented an alarming escalation of attacks on healthcare facilities in Iran, resulting in a staggering number of over 20 incidents.
At least nine individuals have lost their lives, including a member of the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the WHO, has highlighted the devastating impact of one such strike, which crippled the historic Pasteur Institute in Tehran, leaving it incapable of providing vital health services.
As previously reported, this attack, along with others targeting a psychiatric hospital and a facility manufacturing critical medicines for cancer and multiple sclerosis patients, has severely disrupted Iran’s healthcare system.
