Cole McConchie, a New Zealand cricketer, has expressed his admiration for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), describing it as a “special league” due to its high standard of cricket. McConchie made this statement during an exclusive interview, reflecting on his first appearance with RawalPindiz in the ongoing 11th edition of the tournament. According to McConchie, the combination of local Pakistani talent and international players makes the PSL a standout competition. “Pakistan has consistently produced exceptional cricketing talent,” he noted. “When you add world-class international players to the mix, it elevates the league to a truly special level.” The Kiwi all-rounder praised the welcoming atmosphere within the RawalPindiz squad and expressed his enthusiasm for visiting Pakistan. “It’s always a pleasure to visit Pakistan and join forces with the Pindi side, which boasts a mix of familiar Pakistani players and fellow Kiwis,” he said. McConchie, who is currently competing in his first franchise league, is enjoying the experience and remains optimistic about improving the team’s performance in the remaining matches. “I’m having a fantastic time, and I’m hopeful that we can turn things around starting with our match against Lahore tomorrow night,” he added. Despite RawalPindiz’s struggles in the tournament so far, McConchie believes there is still much to play for. “We’ve had a disappointing start to the campaign, but there’s a lot of pride at stake, and we’re eager to make a positive impact,” he said. McConchie also credited his previous tours to Pakistan for helping him adjust to the local playing conditions. “Having experienced the conditions firsthand has given me an edge in adapting to the unique surfaces here,” he explained. The New Zealand cricketer further praised Pakistan’s hospitality and cricket culture, noting that fellow player Daryl Mitchell had also shared positive feedback about the league. “Pakistan is renowned for its warm hospitality, and the food is exceptional,” he said. “Daryl Mitchell has spoken highly of his experience in the Pakistan league, and we’re thoroughly enjoying our time here.” With four matches remaining, RawalPindiz will look to bounce back and conclude their campaign on a strong note.
