The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revoked the No Objection Certificate (NOC) it had granted to experienced fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, effectively ending his participation in the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11). Rahman, who was signed directly by Lahore Qalandars for the ongoing tournament, had already appeared in five matches before leaving to join the Bangladesh national team for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. Following his return from international duty, Rahman was initially expected to rejoin the Lahore Qalandars squad by May 3, but a medical review has altered the situation. In a statement, the BCB revealed that its medical panel conducted a thorough assessment of Rahman’s condition after the third ODI and decided that further evaluation was necessary. “Following the conclusion of the third ODI against New Zealand, the BCB Medical Team conducted a review of Mustafizur Rahman’s condition,” the statement explained. “It was decided that the player would undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he would begin a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team.” Although the board did not disclose the specifics of the injury, it confirmed that Rahman would not be participating in the remainder of PSL 2026. “In light of this, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026,” the statement added. In a related development, the BCB also announced that fast bowler Nahid Rana would not be released for PSL 2026. Rana had been associated with Peshawar Zalmi during the tournament. According to the board, this decision was made to allow Rana sufficient preparation time for Bangladesh’s upcoming home Test series against Pakistan, scheduled for next month.
