IMF Executive Board Meeting Called to Approve Pakistan’s Next $1.2 Billion Tranche

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has scheduled an Executive Board meeting on May 8 to approve the next $1.2 billion tranche for Pakistan. In a statement released by the IMF, the board is expected to endorse Pakistan’s third economic review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) during the May 8 session. The statement also indicates that the board will approve the second review of the Climate‑Related Resilience (RSF) program. It should be noted that a staff‑level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF was reached on March 27.
