Major political shock in Ghanche as Bakhtawar Shah announces joining PML‑Q

Ghanche (Bureau Report) – Bakhtawar Shah, vice‑president of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Gilgit Division, has announced his departure from the party and his entry into the Pakistan Muslim League‑Q (PML‑Q). During a press conference in Gahkoch, he declared his resignation from PPP and said he will contest the upcoming elections from constituency Ghanche‑2 on a PML‑Q ticket. He claimed that senior PPP workers were favoring seasonal candidates and handing them tickets, and that party leaders had mistreated him and violated his rights. After being sidelined by the party leadership, he said staying in PPP was no longer possible, so he bid farewell to the party. He added that disgruntled party workers will rebel and announce their own election bids from the constituency. He mentioned that many influential personalities are in contact with him and will join his camp, strengthening PML‑Q and delivering a surprise by winning the seat. He stated that decisions made behind closed doors will no longer be accepted and that those responsible for exploiting the public will be held accountable.
