Gops Protest Over Dilapidated Roads, Dangerous Bridges and Traffic Hazards

Residents of Gops (MA Shah) Bhatrit, Bati, Nulti and nearby areas blocked the Ghadar Shandur Road in front of the ADC office for about two hours to demand solutions to their basic problems. The protest was led by former chairman Gashpur Khan, Haji Anar, Haji Waliat Noor, councilor Gul Baz and councilor Jabbar. Demonstrators said the main road of Bhatrit is in a severely deteriorated state and the Rahimabad bridge has become dangerously crumbling, posing a risk of a major accident at any moment. They complained that, although a dispensary exists in Hamarun, no staff are assigned there, leaving locals without medical services. Protesters also reported leakage in the Power House channel, causing water to enter homes and creating serious hardships. Referring to an incident that occurred yesterday at She Dar, they noted that two valuable lives were lost, largely due to the poor condition of roads and bridges. Demonstrators further accused the unloading of wheat at the Rahimabad grain depot of causing severe difficulties for the public, while the government continues to neglect the people of Bhatrit. During the protest, Assistant Commissioner Gops arrived on site and negotiated with the demonstrators. He assured the public that their issues would be addressed as a priority, after which the protesters cleared the road and dispersed peacefully. Local residents have demanded immediate government action to repair roads and bridges, provide medical facilities, and resolve other basic problems to prevent further loss of life and property.
