Government Decides to Allow Citizens to Apply for Passports from Home

Islamabad – The government has approved a decision to let citizens apply for passports from the comfort of their homes. In a meeting chaired by DG Passports Muhammad Ali Rindhawa, the NADRA technical team participated and approved key decisions. The session reviewed the current passport system in detail and considered various reforms to align it with modern requirements. Technical glitches were resolved, and the worldwide issuance service for Pakistani passports was restored. A list of the strongest and weakest passports in 2026 was released, highlighting Pakistan’s position. During the meeting, the Interior Minister briefed on introducing new technology and updating existing policies to fit a digital framework. The decision to enable home‑based passport applications was also finalized.
