Iranian Response Still Awaited for Participation in Peace Talks, Says Ata Tarar

Federal Minister for Information Ata Tarar said that Pakistan is still awaiting an official response from Iran regarding the confirmation of its delegation’s participation in the peace negotiations. In a post on the social networking site X, the minister stated that Pakistan, acting as a mediator, is in continuous contact with the Iranians and is pursuing diplomatic channels and negotiations. Tarar noted that the ceasefire will end at 4:50 a.m. on April 22, and Iran’s decision to join the talks before the two‑week ceasefire expires is of great importance. He added that the federal government has made sincere efforts to persuade the Iranian leadership to take part in the second round of talks, and those efforts are ongoing.
