Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has accused Israel of attempting to undermine Islamabad’s efforts to broker a ceasefire between the US and Iran by launching a strike against Tehran at a critical juncture when both sides were poised to engage in talks.
Dar made this assertion during a session of the Pakistani Senate, as reported by Geo News, stating that Iran and the US had reached an understanding on Pakistan’s role as a facilitator, with both parties agreeing to hold talks in Islamabad. Pakistan, he claimed, had successfully transmitted the US’s 15-point conditions to Iran and also conveyed Tehran’s five-point conditions to Washington.
According to the Iranian state news agency IRNA, Iran had communicated its response to a US proposal through Pakistan following two weeks of intense diplomatic negotiations at the highest level.
