Landslides Block Karakoram Highway and Jaglot–Skardu Road After Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall has triggered landslides, blocking key highways in Gilgit-Baltistan and disrupting traffic.

The Karakoram Highway (N-35) is closed for all types of traffic at Uchar Nallah, Dassu (RD-294) due to landslides. The affected section is approximately 206 kilometres from the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) area of responsibility. Meanwhile, the Gilgit–Babusar–Naran Road (N-15) remains open for traffic.

The Jaglot–Skardu Road (S-1) is also blocked at Ansar Camp Bridge (RD-16.5) following heavy rainfall and landslides. The affected location is about 16.5 kilometres from Alam Bridge, and authorities have confirmed that no alternate route is currently available.

Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and follow official updates until the roads are cleared and declared safe for traffic.
