Renowned West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop has lavished praise on 18-year-old Peshawar Zalmi speedster Ali Raza following his outstanding display against Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match held at the Gaddafi Stadium. Ali Raza’s impressive spell yielded four wickets for 41 runs, including a hat-trick in the final over, where he dismissed Khushdil Shah, Shahid Aziz, and Hasan Ali with consecutive deliveries. In a social media post, Bishop expressed admiration for the young bowler’s rapid growth and expressed confidence in his future prospects. He credited the guidance of experienced coaches, including Otis Gibson and Azhar Mahmood, for Ali Raza’s progress. “Ali Raza is fortunate to have coaches like Otis Gibson and Azhar Mahmood guiding him,” Bishop said. “I often offer private compliments, but I keep a close eye on him. You continue to highlight his talent for the country. He’s a talented young player.” Ali Raza’s remarkable performance has made him the youngest bowler to achieve a hat-trick in PSL history and the first player from Peshawar Zalmi to accomplish this feat. He is also the seventh overall bowler and the fifth fast bowler to claim a hat-trick in the league. The first PSL hat-trick was recorded by Mohammad Amir for Karachi Kings against Lahore Qalandars in the inaugural season. Other fast bowlers to achieve this milestone include Junaid Khan, Mohammad Sami, and Abbas Afridi. Meanwhile, spinners Imran Tahir and Akeal Hosein have also taken hat-tricks. Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, continues to dominate PSL 11, remaining unbeaten with eight wins in nine matches, including one washed-out game. They currently top the standings with 17 points and a net run rate of 2.645.
