Hasan Ali, a key pacer for Karachi Kings, has echoed concerns raised by Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha about the premature promotion of young cricketers to the national team. The seasoned bowler believes emerging players should only be given opportunities once they have reached full maturity. Speaking after Karachi Kings’ 11-run loss to Multan Sultans in the 28th match of PSL 11 at National Bank Stadium, Hasan pointed out that Pakistan tends to rush young talent before they are ready. “We push young players into the spotlight before they are fully developed,” he said, drawing a comparison with Mohammad Rizwan, the experienced national wicketkeeper-batter. Like Rizwan, Hasan’s sole focus remains on cricket, driven by his passion for the sport. “I live and breathe cricket, and I strive to make a name for myself through my performances,” he said. Hasan dismissed speculation about his own retirement, which often follows a dip in performance, reaffirming his commitment to making a comeback through strong showings. He highlighted his impressive record in the PSL, where he is the leading wicket-taker with 137 wickets. “I will prove my worth through consistent performances and earn my place back in the team,” he said. The right-arm pacer also acknowledged Karachi Kings’ recent struggles in the ongoing PSL season, citing shortcomings across all three departments of the game. Hasan rejected suggestions that the team’s struggles were due to David Warner’s absence in the previous three matches, emphasizing that Karachi Kings is a team effort. “We are a collective unit, and every player in our side has the potential to be a match-winner,” he said.
