Latest FBR Income Tax Slabs for Salaried Persons (2025-26)
If your salary income is more than 75% of your total income, these slabs apply:
- Up to Rs. 600,000 per year → 0% tax (completely tax-free)
- Rs. 600,001 to Rs. 1,200,000 → 1% on the amount above 600,000
- Rs. 1,200,001 to Rs. 2,200,000 → Rs. 6,000 + 11% on the amount above 1,200,000
- Rs. 2,200,001 to Rs. 3,200,000 → Rs. 116,000 + 23% on the amount above 2,200,000
- Rs. 3,200,001 to Rs. 4,100,000 → Rs. 346,000 + 30% on the amount above 3,200,000
- Above Rs. 4,100,000 → Rs. 616,000 + 35% on the amount above 4,100,000
Note: If your annual taxable income exceeds Rs. 10 million, you also pay a 9% surcharge on the total income tax.

Here are practical calculations for common salary levels (without any deductions):
- Monthly Salary Rs. 50,000 → Annual Rs. 600,000 → Tax = Rs. 0 → Take-home = Rs. 50,000
- Monthly Salary Rs. 100,000 → Annual Rs. 1,200,000 → Tax = Rs. 6,000 → Monthly Tax ≈ Rs. 500
- Monthly Salary Rs. 150,000 → Annual Rs. 1,800,000 → Tax = Rs. 72,000 → Monthly Tax ≈ Rs. 6,000
- Monthly Salary Rs. 200,000 → Annual Rs. 2,400,000 → Tax = Rs. 162,000 → Monthly Tax ≈ Rs. 13,500
- Monthly Salary Rs. 300,000 → Annual Rs. 3,600,000 → Tax = Rs. 436,000 → Monthly Tax ≈ Rs. 36,333
How Much Relief Did You Get Compared to Last Year?
The 2025-26 budget reduced tax rates in several slabs. Here is the real benefit:
- People earning Rs. 100,000 per month now save about Rs. 2,000 per month.
- People earning Rs. 150,000 per month now save about Rs. 4,000 per month.
- People earning Rs. 200,000 per month now save about Rs. 5,667 per month.
The biggest relief came in the slab of Rs. 600,001 to Rs. 1,200,000, where the rate dropped sharply from 5% to just 1%. This benefits millions of middle-class employees across Pakistan.
Who Benefits the Most?
- Lower middle-class employees (Rs. 50,000 – 100,000 salary)
- Middle-class professionals (Rs. 100,000 – 200,000 salary)
- Government and private sector employees in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and other cities
However, people earning above Rs. 300,000 monthly saw only minor relief.
