Gilgit (Special Representative) – A wave of concern has swept the community after the recent transfer of skin specialist Dr. Kareem Aman from the 30‑bed hospital in Muhammadabad, Deniyur, Gilgit‑Baltistan. Local leaders and residents have labeled the move unfair and unjust, demanding its immediate reversal. GBA‑3 electoral candidate Maulana Akbar strongly condemned the action, calling it an abuse of the area’s people. In his statement he said, “The transfer of skin specialist Dr. Kareem Aman from the 30‑bed hospital in Muhammadabad just two weeks after his posting goes against the expectations of the local community and is an unfair decision.” Maulana Akbar added that the residents had welcomed Dr. Kareem Aman with great hope, expecting improvements in regional healthcare due to his expert services. He warned that moving the doctor in such a short time deprives the public of essential medical care and could provoke a strong public reaction. “If this decision is not withdrawn immediately, there will be a severe protest at the public level and all responsibility will lie with the concerned authorities,” he said. He urged officials to cancel Dr. Kareem Aman’s transfer at once and to urgently fill the shortage of other doctors and medical staff in the hospital so that the people of the area can receive better health services. Residents of Muhammadabad have also expressed strong opposition, stating that Dr. Kareem Aman’s presence not only improved treatment of skin diseases but also that he was a skilled and compassionate doctor who won the hearts of the locals. The public notes that the region suffers from a shortage of doctors, and this transfer will further impact public health facilities.
