French Junior Army Minister Alice Rufo has provided further insight into NATO’s capabilities, underscoring the organization’s limitations.
“NATO’s primary focus is on safeguarding the Euro-Atlantic region,” Rufo stated in Paris, emphasizing the alliance’s purpose. “Engaging in operations within the Strait of Hormuz would be a clear contravention of international law,” she added, highlighting the organization’s restricted scope.
This statement follows earlier reports that President Trump had expressed consideration for withdrawing the US from NATO, a move he had previously hinted at due to NATO allies’ reluctance to participate in military operations in the Strait.
