The Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) has reached a critical juncture, with four teams vying for the final playoff spot as the league enters its final round of matches. Islamabad United, the three-time champions, have secured qualification after a resounding eight-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen at National Bank Stadium. This triumph propelled Islamabad United to 11 points from nine matches, solidifying their position in third place alongside already-qualified Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s defeat has proven costly, as they slipped to fifth place with eight points and a net run rate of -1.037, narrowly ahead of Karachi Kings, who also possess eight points. Lahore Qalandars currently occupy fourth position, while Quetta Gladiators trail in seventh place with six points from nine matches. RawalPindiz occupy the bottom spot with a single win and two points. With Islamabad United’s qualification confirmed, the focus now shifts to Hyderabad Kingsmen, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, and Quetta Gladiators, who are competing for the final playoff place. Hyderabad Kingsmen’s chances of qualification hinge on a strong finish, requiring them to win their final match against RawalPindiz by a significant margin while also relying on defeats from both Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars face a daunting final fixture against unbeaten Peshawar Zalmi, necessitating a win and also relying on losses from both Hyderabad Kingsmen and Karachi Kings. Karachi Kings must secure a victory over Quetta Gladiators in their final game and hope for losses from both Qalandars and Kingsmen to secure a top-four spot. Quetta Gladiators, despite their seventh-place standing, remain mathematically in contention. A win over Karachi Kings combined with losses from both Qalandars and Kingsmen would leave all four teams level on points, with net run rate serving as the tiebreaker. As multiple scenarios remain in play, the final round of league matches, and potentially net run rate, will determine which team secures the last place in the PSL 11 playoffs.
