Azad Kashmir Elections: Election Commission Takes Notice of Exchanges and Development Announcements

Political tension rose ahead of the Azad Kashmir elections as opposition leader Shah Ghulam Qadir asked the Election Commission to issue a notice on recent exchanges and development announcements. The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has demanded a response from the government within three days. Shah Ghulam Qadir stated that any exchanges or development announcements before the election schedule amount to pre‑poll rigging. The commission directed the Chief Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister to submit an immediate report. It also warned that action will be taken against anyone violating the code of conduct.
