Chilas (Bureau Report) – Former assembly candidate and well‑known political figure Haji Noshir has officially announced his withdrawal in support of Pakistan Muslim League‑N (PML‑N) candidate Engineer Abdul Wajid. Following this decision, the PML‑N’s position in the area has become more stable, and political circles view the move as a significant breakthrough. Haji Noshir secured over 2,000 votes in the 2020 election and is regarded as an influential personality in local politics. His constituency, Thak and Niat, holds deep respect for him due to his sincere leadership, and the public highly appreciates his dedication. Haji Noshir has consistently played a proactive role in addressing collective issues in Thak Das and the wider Thak region, earning a reputation for friendliness and public service. After joining the PML‑N and endorsing Engineer Abdul Wajid, the party leadership recognized his contributions and decided to appoint him as an advisor or special assistant during the government‑forming process. Former Gilgit‑Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafiz‑ur‑Rehman honored Haji Noshir with the title of “Thinker” and welcomed him into the party, signaling that his political weight and public support will be valuable for the PML‑N. Following Haji Noshir’s endorsement, celebrations erupted among PML‑N workers and his supporters in Niat and Thak. Political analysts say that the transfer of at least 1,000 of Haji Noshir’s 2,000 votes to Engineer Abdul Wajid will play a key role in Abdul Wajid’s success and pose major challenges for rival candidates.
