Karaj Bridge Reconstruction Pledge Amid US Attack Fallout

A site inspection by Al Jazeera revealed the extent of damage to the Karaj bridge in Iran, a structure that US President Trump had claimed was destroyed by American forces. The bridge, nearing completion, was set to be inaugurated in June. The presence of large cranes surrounding the site underscores the unfinished nature of the project.

“We were on the cusp of inaugurating this project, which would have served the local community, showcasing the capabilities of Iranian engineers,” said Abolfazl Rahmani, a representative of Northern Freeway Construction Company. “It appears the adversaries were provoked by this achievement, and we will not be deterred from rebuilding the bridge.”

The US attack resulted in eight fatalities and approximately 100 injuries, primarily affecting residents of a nearby village.
