Landless People Will Receive Free Houses, Says Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that individuals without land will be provided free houses. Speaking at a flat‑distribution ceremony for laborers in the provincial capital, she congratulated the workers on receiving homes and highlighted that owning a house is a great blessing, especially amid rising inflation and hardships. She noted that each residential flat cost 3.5 million rupees and that eligible laborers are receiving these flats at no charge. In the first phase, 720 residential flats are being allocated, 500 houses in Taxila are nearing completion, and under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program, one lakh houses have already been finished. Nawaz added that 1.5 million workers have been issued ration cards, emphasizing priority for providing roofs to the poor and middle class. The Clean Punjab initiative is being showcased as a global model, with its scope now expanded across the entire province. She also mentioned that she will visit Azerbaijan later this week.
