In a stark warning, Jeanine Hennis, the UN’s special coordinator for Lebanon, has sounded the alarm on the escalating conflict in the region, emphasizing that the current trajectory is unsustainable.
“The recent escalation of Israeli military strikes coincides with a fragile glimmer of hope for a peaceful resolution,” she noted in a statement on X. “However, this cycle of violence must be brought to an end, as neither side can achieve a decisive victory through aggression alone.”
