Following Quetta Gladiators’ decisive six-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi has solidified their position in the top four of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) standings. With 13 points accumulated from seven matches, Zalmi currently occupies the top spot among the eight competing teams. The Gladiators’ triumph ensured that Zalmi’s 13-point total cannot be surpassed by the fourth-placed team by the end of the league stage. Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL 11 campaign kicked off with a resounding five-wicket win over RawalPindiz in a high-scoring match. Their subsequent fixture against Islamabad United was washed out due to rain in Lahore. The team then gained momentum with consecutive victories over Hyderabad Kingsmen, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators. These wins enabled them to maintain their position at the top of the table. Zalmi will next face the Gladiators again on Sunday at the same venue, followed by a trip to Lahore, where they will face Karachi Kings on April 22 and Lahore Qalandars on April 25. Although Peshawar Zalmi has secured their playoff spot, the competition for the remaining positions remains intense, with all seven other teams still in contention for the playoffs. Islamabad United, a three-time PSL champion, currently holds second place with nine points from seven matches, while Multan Sultans, the 2021 winners, closely follow with eight points, having played one match less.
