In a significant development ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) title showdown between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed the prize money structure for participating franchises. Breaking new ground, the PCB has introduced a separate prize money system for the first time in the league’s history. Under this innovative model, the champion franchise will take home a substantial $500,000, while the runners-up will receive a significant $300,000. Additionally, the PCB has allocated $200,000 to recognize the franchise with the most impressive player development program. Furthermore, the players of the title-winning team will share a collective $500,000 prize pool. This comprehensive prize money package totals $1.5 million, with the bulk of it linked to the final and franchise awards. According to the PCB, this revamped reward system is part of a broader strategy to enhance the league’s overall competitiveness and provide franchises with a stronger financial motivation to excel beyond on-field success. The plan was initially unveiled by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi last year. As the stage is set for the highly anticipated title clash, Peshawar Zalmi will be seeking to claim the championship after a four-year hiatus from the final. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Kingsmen have emerged as a dark horse in the tournament, having overcome Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in back-to-back eliminators to reach the final in their inaugural season. The two teams have already faced off once this season, with Zalmi securing a thrilling last-ball victory by four wickets.
