Turkiye Implements Price Hikes for Electricity and Gas

Turkiye has implemented a 25 percent increase in retail electricity prices for residential consumers, attributed to elevated production and distribution expenses, according to state energy company BOTAS. Concurrently, household natural gas prices have also been raised by an average of 25 percent. Industrial consumers of natural gas saw a 18.61 percent price surge, while power plants faced a 19.42 percent increase. Meanwhile, electricity tariffs were revised upward by 17.5 percent for low-voltage users in the public and services sectors, 5.8 percent for medium-voltage industrial consumers, and 24.8 percent for agricultural users.
