In a strategic move, Quetta Gladiators have enlisted the services of seasoned Sri Lankan cricketer Dinesh Chandimal to bolster their lineup for the remainder of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11). This decision comes after Bevon Jacobs departed the tournament to join New Zealand’s national squad, which has been summoned for an upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh set to commence on April 27. Jacobs had made a notable impact in his inaugural PSL season, participating in three matches and accumulating 52 runs, including a 49-run unbeaten knock against Multan Sultans. To compensate for Jacobs’ absence, Quetta Gladiators have turned to Chandimal, who is expected to arrive in Pakistan later today and integrate seamlessly into the team. As an experienced wicketkeeper-batter, Chandimal is well-acquainted with the franchise, having previously played for Quetta in the previous season. During his brief stint, he featured in three matches and scored 87 runs, including an unbeaten 48. Chandimal’s impressive international credentials also make him an attractive addition to the team. He boasts a rich T20I experience, having represented Sri Lanka in 69 matches and notched 1,066 runs, with six half-centuries to his name. Furthermore, he was an integral part of Sri Lanka’s triumphant squad at the 2014 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, providing Quetta Gladiators with a seasoned option as the tournament reaches its climax. Currently, Quetta Gladiators occupy the fifth spot on the PSL 11 points table, having secured two wins from six matches.
