The Pakistan Under-19 prodigy is slated to make his senior red-ball debut with JDW Sugar Mills in the upcoming President’s Trophy Grade-II, a three-day competition that will mark a significant milestone in his career. Additionally, he is likely to make his first-class debut for Pakistan Television in the next domestic season, with the department side, which triumphed in the President’s Trophy in 2024, having identified him as a key player in its plans for the longer format. Sameer Minhas’s elder brother Arafat Minhas is already a part of that setup. The young right-hander has garnered widespread acclaim for his ability to seamlessly blend solid technique with aggressive strokeplay, making him one of the most sought-after emerging batters in Pakistan cricket. His impressive performances during PSL 2026 have cemented his status as one of the standout uncapped performers of the season. Prior to his PSL stint, Sameer Minhas had already established himself as a force to be reckoned with through a series of impressive displays in age-group cricket. His meteoric rise began with a match-winning 172 off 113 balls against India in the Under-19 Asia Cup final, where he also finished as the leading run-scorer with 471 runs in five matches. He went on to become Pakistan’s top run-getter at the Under-19 World Cup and achieved the fastest century in youth ODIs, reaching three figures in just 42 balls against Zimbabwe. This remarkable ascent propelled him to the top of the list of most sought-after young names at the PSL player auction, where a fierce bidding battle pushed his price to Rs. 19 million, the highest amount paid for an uncapped Under-23 player. He has since justified the hype with an outstanding PSL season, scoring 343 runs in 10 innings at an average of 42.87 and a strike rate of 155.90, including three half-centuries and a record for the most runs scored by a teenager in a single PSL season.
