In a breathtaking finale to a thrilling match, 18-year-old Ali Raza, the Peshawar Zalmi fast bowler, etched his name in the annals of Pakistan Super League history by becoming the youngest Pakistani to claim a T20 hat-trick in PSL 11. The remarkable feat was achieved at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during a match against Karachi Kings. The young pacer was entrusted with the final over of the innings after Karachi opted to bat first, and what began as a challenging assignment turned into an unforgettable moment in cricket history. Ali Raza started the over by conceding a wide, followed by a four off Abbas Afridi’s edge and a single. However, the momentum shifted dramatically when Afridi was run out while attempting a bye after a wide delivery. The over then took a dramatic turn as Khushdil Shah smashed him for six, but Ali regained control on the next delivery by dismissing Shah hit wicket. He then claimed his second wicket of the over by bowling Shahid Aziz with a fast full delivery. Ali sealed the hat-trick on the final ball by dismissing Hasan Ali, securing a stunning finish for Zalmi. The young pacer finished with impressive figures of 4/41 in four overs, with three of those wickets coming on the last three legal deliveries of the innings. Earlier, Karachi had built a strong foundation after winning the toss and choosing to bat. The Kings made a solid start with a 35-run opening stand, and although Ali had earlier broken through by bowling David Warner, the innings was driven by Jason Roy, who scored 85 off 51 balls, and Azam Khan, who made a quick 35 off 19. However, Karachi failed to capitalize on their wickets in hand at the death, and their innings fell apart in the final over, with four wickets falling in quick succession. The Kings ultimately closed on 182/9 in 20 overs. Stay updated with ProSports for the latest PSL 11 news, schedule updates, stats, points table, and power rankings.
