Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) witnessed a remarkable milestone when Hyderabad Kingsmen’s wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan achieved a historic feat by becoming the first player to score four centuries in the tournament. The right-handed batsman reached this milestone during Hyderabad’s match against Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium, where he delivered a match-winning performance of 101 runs off just 47 deliveries. His innings featured a total of 10 sixes and 5 fours, and came at a critical juncture when Hyderabad were struggling at 48/3 in 5.2 overs, with Muhammad Ismail on a hat-trick and the team’s chances of winning slipping away. Usman Khan also narrowly escaped a potential dismissal on the first ball he faced, as Multan failed to appeal for a possible edge. From that point onwards, he took charge of the game with an aggressive counterattack, single-handedly steering Hyderabad towards a memorable victory. With this century, Usman Khan surpassed Babar Azam, Rilee Rossouw, and Kamran Akmal, who each have three PSL hundreds to their name. What makes this achievement even more notable is that Usman Khan scored his first three PSL centuries while representing Multan Sultans, the same team he punished with his record-breaking fourth ton. Prior to joining Hyderabad Kingsmen in the Diamond category ahead of the latest season, Usman Khan had represented Multan in three editions. His first PSL hundred was scored against Quetta Gladiators in the 2023 season, followed by two more centuries in the following year against Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. Additionally, Usman Khan holds another significant PSL record, the fastest century in tournament history, which he achieved off just 36 balls against Quetta Gladiators. This latest century not only secured a thrilling win for Hyderabad but also solidified Usman Khan’s position as one of the most explosive batsmen in the league.
