Education crisis has intensified as schools in Ghanche lack teachers, prompting deep concern among parents and school committees. Citizens have also filed a petition with the Chief Election Commissioner, warning that they will take to the streets if immediate action is not taken.
Ghanche (Special Representative) — School committees and parents from various schools in Ghanche district submitted a petition to the Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit‑Baltistan at the Returning Officer office for constituency 01 Ghanche, demanding action against the severe teacher shortage. The petition, signed by residents of Union Council Bulghar, states that the acute lack of teaching staff is badly damaging the education system. Most schools are almost without teachers, causing disrupted learning and nearly paralyzed educational activities.
Parents expressed that their children’s valuable time is being wasted while authorities continue to ignore the issue. Locals say they have repeatedly approached higher officials, yet no effective progress has been made. The petitioners note that the Deputy Director of Education Ghanche (DDE) promised a swift resolution, but no action has followed. They also accuse the District Investigation Service (DIS) Ghanche of making no substantial progress.
Residents have demanded that the Chief Election Commissioner issue an immediate notice and direct the relevant DDO to address the teacher shortage and prevent further educational loss for students. They warned that if the shortage is not resolved promptly, they will be forced to protest on the streets. They have called on the Education Department to ensure the attendance of teachers assigned to Bulghar so that children’s educational future is secured.
