The District Coordination Officer (DC) of Ghizer assured that the election code of conduct will be strictly enforced and that all administrative resources will be deployed to ensure a clean and transparent election. A delegation from the Ghizer Press Club, led by President Yaqub Alam Tai, met with DC Ghizer Anayatullah to confirm that journalists will be granted access to information during the election. During the meeting, the delegation emphasized the need for necessary steps to provide information access, curb fake news, and ensure cooperation between media and administration for a fair election. DC Ghizer pledged to issue instructions to all Returning Officers in the three constituencies of Ghizer so that journalists can obtain pre‑election and election‑day data, guaranteeing fact‑based reporting. He also noted that, alongside the upcoming election, a Hajj pilgrimage is being organized in Ghizer, requiring coordinated efforts between the administration and media to ensure its success and improve public services. The DC warned that any government employee who participates in election campaigning will face action and may have to relinquish their job. Additionally, the DC stated that compensation for victims of the Shandur Road incident will be promptly provided once the National Highway Authority releases the funds, ensuring the project’s timely completion.
