Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi stated that Pakistan is fully committed to promoting peace, dialogue, and diplomacy in the region, and that its role remains continuously active amid the ongoing Iran‑US tension and possible negotiations. In a weekly press briefing, Andarabi emphasized Pakistan’s respect for the sovereignty and equality of all states while pursuing regional stability, asserting that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomatic engagement. He noted that Pakistan supports negotiations and diplomacy between nations, with the Deputy Prime Minister in contact with regional and foreign ministers, and highlighted China’s foreign minister praising Pakistan’s constructive contribution and stressing the importance of a sustainable cease‑fire and talks. The spokesperson rejected a CBS News report alleging the presence of Iranian aircraft in Pakistan and clarified that the statement from U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham was issued before Pakistan’s rebuttal and shortly after the CBS report, causing a slight delay in Pakistan’s response, which fully reflects the factual situation. Andarabi reaffirmed Pakistan’s mediation role to end the tension, saying the peace process is ongoing, contacts with the parties continue daily, and the Iran‑US peace initiative remains active with Iran engaged and hopeful prospects. The ministry also urged Afghanistan to prevent terrorism from its territory, described emerging calls for talks in India as a positive development, and expressed anticipation of a constructive response from the Indian government, noting no knowledge of any track‑two or back‑door contacts between Pakistan and India. He added that Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif held telephone conversations last week with the leaders of Qatar and Azerbaijan, discussing regional conditions and peace efforts, and conveyed best wishes to Azerbaijan’s president for the World Urban Forum. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met the UN Secretary‑General’s special envoy for the Middle East, receiving commendation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at regional peace and stability. Pakistan continues to engage various parties to promote de‑escalation and negotiations, particularly to reduce the Iran‑US strain.
