A pivotal meeting was held between the Federal Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit‑Baltistan and officials of Qarakram International University (KIO) to secure the university’s financial stability, advance infrastructure development, and address other critical issues. According to the university’s public‑relations department, the session included Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ataullah Shah, senior officials from the federal ministry, university administrators, and representatives from the Gilgit‑Baltistan Treasury and Higher Education Department. Participants examined a draft plan aimed at completing ongoing development projects and modernizing academic infrastructure, agreeing to refine the proposal for greater comprehensiveness and effectiveness. Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ataullah Shah emphasized the urgent need for immediate actions to enhance the university’s growth and provide better facilities for students. He stated that the meeting’s outcomes will significantly advance solutions for KIO’s challenges and solidify its position as a robust center of higher education. Qarakram International University is the premier institution in Gilgit‑Baltistan, playing a central role in the educational future of the region’s youth. Joint federal and regional efforts are expected to resolve the university’s issues and usher in a new era of academic progress for the area.
