Iran’s Closure of Hormuz Strait Deemed Unjust by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister

Speaking at the UN Security Council ahead of a pivotal vote on a resolution concerning the Strait of Hormuz, Bahrain’s foreign minister Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani emphasized the gravity of recent events impacting the strategic Gulf waterway, which is responsible for transporting one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies.
The Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Al Zayani pointed out, are the primary suppliers of global energy resources. Consequently, the security of the Strait of Hormuz is a collective international concern, he stated.
In a clear and forceful declaration, Al Zayani asserted that Iran has no legitimate authority to restrict navigation through the waterway or deny access to these vital resources, which are essential for human survival.
