A blistering half-century from Steve Smith propelled Multan Sultans to a six-wicket victory over RawalPindiz in the 31st match of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. Chasing 167, Multan reached the target with eight balls to spare despite losing four wickets. The Sultans’ chase was initially hindered by Sahibzada Farhan’s early dismissal after scoring 20, but Smith and Josh Philippe steadied the ship with a 69-run partnership for the second wicket. Smith then took control of the innings with a 56-run knock off just 31 deliveries, including five fours and three sixes. Philippe contributed 17 before falling in the 10th over, while Smith was dismissed soon after, leaving Multan in a strong position at 100-3 in 11.3 overs. With 67 still needed, Shan Masood and Ashton Turner added 57 runs to bring Multan closer to victory. Masood scored 20 off 22 balls before being dismissed at the start of the 19th over. Turner remained unbeaten on 37 off 21 deliveries and guided the Sultans home alongside Arafat Minhas, who made seven not out. For RawalPindiz, Asif Afridi was the most successful bowler with 2-28 in four overs. Razaullah and Saad Masood picked up one wicket each. Earlier, RawalPindiz posted 166-6 after being asked to bat first. Their innings began poorly as Shahzaib Khan and Yasir Khan were both dismissed inside the first two overs with just six runs on the board. Mitchell then helped rebuild the innings with captain Mohammad Rizwan. The pair added 63 runs for the third wicket before Rizwan was dismissed for 26 off 29 balls. Mitchell continued to anchor the innings and later found support from Sam Billings, who made 29 off 20 deliveries. Their partnership added 52 runs before Billings fell in the 17th over. Dian Forrester then provided late momentum with a quick 37 off 15 balls, striking three fours and three sixes. He added 45 runs with Mitchell in an unbeaten stand near the end of the innings. Mitchell remained unbeaten on 58 from 46 balls with three fours and two sixes as RawalPindiz finished on 166-6. For Multan, Mohammad Imran, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Arafat Minhas took one wicket each.
