PSL Star’s National Team Omission Sparks Candid Response

Pakistan national team snubbed all-rounder Khushdil Shah has finally broken his silence on being left out of the team, despite a match-winning performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11). The 31-year-old’s impressive display for the Karachi Kings was pivotal in their successful 200-run chase against the Lahore Qalandars. With 55 runs still needed from 28 balls and five wickets in hand, Khushdil took charge, scoring an unbeaten 44 off just 14 deliveries, including five sixes and two fours. His innings was marked by a crucial 23-run haul off Shaheen Afridi in a single over and a decisive blow with back-to-back sixes against Haris Rauf, keeping the Karachi Kings’ playoff hopes alive. In an interview on the post-match show Pitch Side, Khushdil revealed his focus was unwavering when he stepped onto the field. “My primary objective was to contribute to our team’s victory,” he stated. He also credited an unbeaten 57-run partnership with captain David Warner, who provided the majority of the runs. Khushdil credited Warner for instilling confidence in him, advising him to remain composed and take the game deep. “Warner emphasized the importance of fighting until the last ball. He gave me a lot of faith and encouraged me to take the match to its conclusion without taking any risks,” he said. When discussing his strategy against top bowlers, Khushdil explained, “My approach was simple – to stay deep in my crease and play cautiously.” Addressing his exclusion from the national team, Khushdil highlighted his performance-oriented approach, stating he doesn’t rely on social media or past clips to address perceived injustices. “I’m distinct from other Pakistani players, as I don’t use social media or post old videos claiming I was unfairly treated,” he said. He also pointed to his recent domestic performances, noting that despite scoring 700-800 runs and achieving a double century while batting at number 5 or 6, he was still overlooked for the national team.
