Two infiltration attempts on the Pakistan‑Afghanistan border thwarted, 13 terrorists killed

Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stopped two infiltration attempts on the Pakistan‑Afghanistan border, killing 13 terrorists. According to the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, India‑backed extremist militants tried to breach the border in the Mahmand district, where an effective security operation resulted in the death of eight terrorists. A second attempt in North Waziristan was also foiled, with five terrorists killed in a gunfight, bringing the total to 13. ISPR said the incidents highlight the Afghan interim government’s failure to maintain effective border management and urged Afghan authorities to prevent their territory from being used by terrorists and to keep their citizens from supporting terrorism in Pakistan. A Pakistani army spokesperson added that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to defending the nation’s borders, and clearance operations will continue to eliminate India‑supported elements in the area to eradicate cross‑border terrorism.
