The Lahore Qalandars secured their fourth victory of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) with a nine-run win over the Quetta Gladiators at the Gaddafi Stadium. Despite a strong effort from Quetta, who were chasing a target of 198, they ultimately fell short, finishing on 188-7. The Gladiators’ batting lineup, led by Shamyl Hussain and Rilee Rossouw, showed promise, but Lahore’s bowlers proved to be the decisive factor in the closing stages. The match began with Quetta’s opening pair of Hussain and captain Saud Shakeel putting on 49 runs for the first wicket, setting the tone for a competitive chase. However, Sikandar Raza’s breakthrough came when he dismissed Saud for 17 off 17 balls, striking three boundaries in the process. Hussain continued to impress, combining well with Rossouw to keep Quetta on track. The left-hander reached his third PSL fifty before being run out by a sharp throw from Daniel Sams, which was completed by Haseebullah Khan. The dismissal ended Hussain’s innings at 53 from 31 balls, featuring five fours and three sixes. Lahore tightened their grip immediately after, with Haris Rauf dismissing Hasan Nawaz for a first-ball duck. Rossouw and Khawaja Nafay then rebuilt the innings, pushing Quetta past the 100-run mark. Rossouw’s aggressive batting style, which included five fours and five sixes, saw him reach his 13th PSL half-century. However, his dismissal by Ubaid Shah for 62 off 29 balls left Quetta at 149-5 in 14.5 overs. Lahore’s bowlers then seized the moment, with Shaheen Afridi removing Bevon Jacobs and Haris Rauf knocking over Brett Hampton with a pinpoint yorker. Abrar Ahmed’s unbeaten 24 off 14 balls, featuring five fours, kept Quetta alive, but Haris Rauf’s brilliant bowling in the final over sealed the win for Lahore. Earlier, Lahore Qalandars posted 197-6, thanks to a commanding innings from Fakhar Zaman and a valuable contribution from Charith Asalanka. Quetta struck early when Khalil Ahmed dismissed Mohammad Farooq for four, but Fakhar and Abdullah Shafique repaired the innings with a steady partnership. Their stand was worth 57 before Abrar Ahmed removed Shafique for 14 off 15 balls. Fakhar then took charge, reaching his 26th PSL half-century and dominating the innings with support from Asalanka. The pair added 96 runs for the third wicket, with Asalanka playing an important hand of 31 from 24 deliveries. Fakhar’s sparkling innings of 103 off 51 balls, featuring 11 fours and six sixes, brought up his third PSL century. Usman Tariq eventually ended his knock in the 17th over, while Khalil Ahmed picked up his second wicket by dismissing Sikandar Raza for five.
