PSL 11 Playoff Pathways Revealed

Following Islamabad United’s hard-fought four-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in the decisive league-stage match at National Stadium, the playoff lineups for the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) have been officially confirmed. The four teams that secured qualification – Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans, and Hyderabad Kingsmen – had already been locked in earlier in the day, with Hyderabad Kingsmen securing a resounding 108-run win against RawalPindiz. However, the evening fixture held significant importance as it determined the top-two positions in the standings. Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan made the strategic decision to field after winning the toss. The Multan Sultans compiled a competitive total of 192-7 through a collaborative batting effort. In pursuit of 193, Islamabad United successfully chased down the target with six wickets in hand and eight balls remaining, securing second place in the process. As a result, Islamabad United will face league leaders Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier, set to take place at the same venue on Tuesday. Multan Sultans, meanwhile, slipped to third place and will now face Hyderabad Kingsmen in Eliminator 1 at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. The Qualifier winner will earn a direct spot in the PSL 11 final. The losing side will get another chance, facing the winner of Eliminator 1 in Eliminator 2, which will be played in Lahore on May 1. The winner of Eliminator 2 will then go on to face the Qualifier winner in the final, scheduled for May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium.
