Daimar Tree‑Planting Campaign Accelerates Against Climate Change, Thousands of Saplings Planted

In Chilas (P R) Limt Thak, a one‑day tree‑planting drive was officially launched through a partnership between Hasho Foundation and the Pakistan Power and Elevation Fund, with support from the district administration, Forestry Department, Agriculture Department, local ulema, and village organizations. The campaign aims to promote environmental protection and create a greener, more vibrant landscape in the area. Large‑scale planting was carried out, resulting in thousands of saplings: 1,500 Kail, 1,500 Diar, 2,200 Safed, and 300 walnut trees. Organizers say these trees will not only improve the environment but also strengthen the local ecosystem. Speakers highlighted that, given the rising threats of climate change, reforestation has become an urgent priority. They noted that trees play a critical role in reducing air pollution, preserving water reservoirs, and preventing soil erosion. In the same vein, Boys High School Diwar Thak held an awareness walk on the importance of tree planting, with active participation from students, teachers, government officials, and other stakeholders. Participants chanted “Plant trees, save lives” to raise public environmental awareness. A relay procession then marched from High School Diwar to A.C.D Hospital to further promote tree‑planting and environmental conservation among the community. At the conclusion, organizers reaffirmed their commitment to continue the tree‑planting initiative on a permanent basis, aiming to keep the region free from environmental pollution and lush with greenery.
