First Ministerial Committee Meeting on Municipal Government Transfer Discusses Various Proposals

The first meeting of the ministerial committee on municipal government transfer was held at 7 Club Road. Speaking at the session, Ali Dar said that, in line with the Punjab Chief Minister’s vision, the effort to activate the municipal structure for public service delivery is progressing rapidly. Committee convener Local Government Minister Zeshan Rafiq noted that the ministerial committee will convene every few days to review the municipal system transfer process. Provincial Agriculture Minister Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah, Communications and Works Minister Saheb Ahmed Malik, and Minerals Minister Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani also attended. In addition, Provincial School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Transport and Mass Transit Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, and the Chief Minister’s political affairs adviser Zeshan Ashiq Malik were present at the meeting. The Secretary of Local Government and Community Development delivered a detailed briefing on the transfer of municipal affairs and administrative preparations, and various proposals were examined to modernize the municipal system across Punjab and improve public services.
