Iran Executes Two Alleged MKO Opposition Members

Iranian authorities have carried out the executions of two individuals accused of involvement in activities with the Mujahideen-e Khalq Organisation (MKO), a former opposition group.
The pair allegedly took part in numerous operations in Tehran, according to the ISNA news agency.
MKO was a powerful leftist group that conducted bombing campaigns against the Shah’s government and US targets in the 1970s, but eventually fell out with other groups.
It was the first to publicly disclose in 2002 that Iran had a secret uranium-enrichment programme, but it has shown little sign of activity in Iran for years.
