US Department of State Acknowledges Reported Abduction of US Journalist in Baghdad

The US Department of State has confirmed knowledge of a reported kidnapping involving a US journalist in Baghdad.
In a statement, US Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Dylan Johnson stated that the Department of State is aware of the reported kidnapping of a US journalist in Baghdad.
“The State Department had previously taken steps to alert this individual to potential threats against them,” he said, “and we will continue to work closely with the FBI to facilitate their safe release as soon as possible.”
Johnson also mentioned that a person with alleged ties to Kataib Hezbollah, suspected of involvement in the kidnapping, has been taken into custody by Iraqi authorities.
