Asian Markets Surge on Trump’s Hopes for Iran Conflict Resolution

Japan’s Nikkei stock average has increased by nearly 4 percent, driven by optimism for a reduction in the Middle East conflict following Trump’s statement that the war on Iran could conclude within two to three weeks.
The Nikkei 225 rose 3.87 percent to 53,039.72 by 01:34 GMT, beginning April on a strong note after the benchmark recorded its worst month in March since the 2008 global financial crisis.
The broader Topix also saw gains, increasing 3.67 percent to 3,626.33.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s KOSPI traded even higher at 6.26 percent, rising 316.27 points to 5,368.73 as of 02:15 GMT.
Singapore’s The Straits Times Index also climbed 1.7 percent, rising 82.89 points to 4,968.34 during the same period.
