Destructive Attacks on Essential Services Must Cease, Qatar’s Leader Urges

In a phone conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store on Monday, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani expressed deep concern over the reckless targeting of critical infrastructure, including water and food supplies, as well as energy facilities. This warning comes amidst escalating tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran. According to the Qatari foreign ministry, the Prime Minister’s remarks were made in light of the urgent need to halt Iran’s unjustified aggression against Qatar and neighboring countries. The warning follows a threat by US President Donald Trump to strike at Iran’s energy and water infrastructure, as well as Tehran’s vow to retaliate across the Gulf. On Sunday, Iran launched a counterattack against Kuwait, damaging two water desalination plants.
