Iran Voices Gratitude to Russia and China for UNSC Veto

Iran’s UN delegation has extended its gratitude to China and Russia for exercising their veto power over a draft resolution backed by the Gulf states, which sought to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement on X, the delegation praised the two nations for thwarting a flawed draft resolution that could have legitimized US aggression under the guise of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
Recalling previous statements, China had described the resolution as containing one-sided condemnation and pressure, while Russia had cautioned that adopting such a resolution would jeopardize any prospects for resuming negotiations.
