Lebanon Grapples with Devastating Aftermath of Israeli Attacks One Month On

Almost a month has passed since Hezbollah retaliated against Israel following the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader by firing rockets into the country, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people in Lebanon and the displacement of nearly 20 percent of the population.
Israel has launched a ground operation and issued compulsory evacuation orders in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese government has designated Hezbollah as an outlawed organisation and demanded that it hand over its arms.
Israel has destroyed bridges, isolating the south from the rest of the country, as it claims to be establishing a buffer zone for its national security.
