Lebanon Remains in Crosshairs as Israel Defies Alleged US-Iran Ceasefire Deal Involving Pakistan

Pakistani authorities had earlier confirmed that a US-Iran truce, encompassing key allies, had been reached, with Lebanon being one of the nations included in the agreement. However, Israel’s prime minister recently contradicted this assertion, stating that Lebanon was not part of the deal. This revelation came after a four-hour period of relative calm, during which time the Pakistani prime minister had announced the ceasefire. Since then, Israeli military operations have persisted in Lebanon, with a series of aerial attacks targeting the town of Mashghara in the Bekaa Valley. The town of Khiam, a site of recent intense clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, also faced artillery bombardment. Furthermore, multiple air strikes were carried out in the city of Tyre, including one that occurred shortly after US President Donald Trump’s announcement, near a hospital.
